On September 10, 1993, following restructur-
ing of farming enterprises the collective farm
Milyukovsky was established based on free
membership for joint production of agricultur-
al products and other economic operations.
The specialty of the collective farm is cattle
breeding, crop production being its accessory
business. The key branch of stock breeding is
dairy cattle production. The total cow popula-
tion is 1,000 animals, including 350 milk cows.
The total farmland is 1,732 hectares, including
1,354 hectares of arable land, 175 hectares of
hayfields, and 203 hectares of pastures.
The crop production mainly provides fodders
for the stockbreeding complex. Since October
27, 2008, SPK Milyukovsky collective farm is a
pedigree farm for breeding black-spotted cows.
Selection is carried out on the farm for improv-
ing the breeding qualities of animals and their
fertility. Bulls are individually chosen for each
cow for producing specific crossbreeds.
Today, the cow population is exclusively of the
black-spotted breed from Holstein sires, which
assures high fertility of the animals. Work is
permanently under way on improving the
breeding qualities of the livestock.
The enterprise closely cooperates with Bel-
yayev Agricultural Academy in Ivanovo and
All-Russian Institute of Cattle Breeding in Po-
dolsk.
Automatic zoocultural registration of animals
is used with the help of the SELEKS software.
The enterprise has a good fodder base and ad-
ditionally buys energy-strong fodders and min-
eral nutrients.
