M. Gorky collective farm was established
in 1950 based on 8 small farming enti-
ties. Afanasyevzskoye became the central
village of the collective farm.
The kindergarten, community center, and
medical center on the territory of the
collective farm were built in the 1980s
at the farm’s own expense.
SPK Afansyevsky is engaged in the pro-
duction and marketing of milk, cattle
meat, and growth of cereals and fodder
crops. It has an eager market for its meat
and dairy products, supplying them to
the cities of Ivanovo and Shuya.
It has introduced an automatic zoo-
cultural registration system using the
SELEKS software. This has increased the
proceeds from sale of meat and milk
thanks to improved product quality. Also,
this made it possible to increase the to-
tal sales of agricultural products. The en-
terprise has acquired tractors and farm-
ing equipment.
In 2006, a program of rural social de-
velopment was launched. The cattle
breeding complex was overhauled. In
the framework of this program the stock-
breeding workers acquired apartments
as property and work to this day on the
farm.
