Dzerzhinsky collective farm was established
in 1931 following a merger of several col-
lective farms. Located on the territory of the
farm are seven settlements with a popula-
tion of around 1,500 people. They are Osa-
novets, Shelbovo, Gorodishche, Volodyatino,
Skomovo, and Vladychino. For fourteen years
the farm has been a pedigree enterprise for
breeding black-spotted cattle. In 2006, it
started selling this breed.
The enterprise is engaged in the production
and marketing of milk and meat as well as
the growth of cereals and fodder crops.
The enterprise carries on selection work on
the livestock by which effort it improves the
genetic potential of animals. This, in turn,
improves the milk yield and fertility of the
animals.
The enterprise closely cooperates with Be-
lyayev Agricultural Academy in Ivanovo and
Genetika (Genetics) Dairy Company, LLC.
The enterprise uses the automated zoocul-
tural animal registration by means of the
SELEKS software. Also, it employs the Uni-
form software for controlling its livestock. It
has a good fodder supply base. Additionally,
it purchases energy-strong fodders and min-
eral nutrients. Work is underway to build a
dairy production farm for 1,200 cows and
600 calves. This will increase dairy produc-
tion, enhance product quality, reduce costs
and create new jobs. The farms’ products
are available in Moscow, Ivanovo region and
neighboring provinces.
